The mission of the Central Texas Healthcare Partnership (CTHP) is to sustain and grow the Central Texas healthcare workforce while expanding pathways to economic mobility for local residents.

CTHP is an industry-wide partnership providing a forum for Central Texas healthcare stakeholders to come together to learn, network, identify innovative solutions that address joint workforce challenges, and realize mutually beneficial opportunities.

Our new white paper offers data and innovative solutions to meet talent demand through the Central Texas Healthcare Partnership.

The nursing shortage is the largest gap in employment for healthcare. The deficit of nurses grows larger every year, which is why we have workgroups and initiatives in place to increase nursing graduates in the Central Texas region. Education and Industry must come together to solve the nursing shortage and we provide that opportunity for collaboration and innovation.

Central Texas Healthcare Partnership nursing graduate increases 2024

Through the Central Texas Healthcare Partnership, Austin’s major hospital systems have collaborated to expand clinical opportunities, add new programs, and increase simulation usage. These efforts have more than doubled nursing graduates over the past five years, with a 20% increase in the last year alone.

There are five key severe shortage careers we are currently working towards addressing. We have implemented initiatives such as apprenticeships, upskilling, and recruitment to help address the shortages in these occupation opportunities.
